About Us:
Ursinus College EMS/QRS 393 is a Pennsylvania Department of Health Licensed Quick Response Service, staffed by highly trained, entirely volunteer, collegiate ambulance personnel. UC EMS providers are Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and First Responders, who are certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in emergency medicine and CPR. UC EMS works closely with the college’s Campus Safety and Residence Life, along with the local ambulance, fire and police squads, to provide effective and professional care. Most emergencies are handled entirely by UC EMS members, with only a handful requiring transport to a hospital. In addition to emergency care, UC EMS strives to educate the community about emergency health by holding CPR classes (both for certification and for general education), open lectures on various aspects of emergency medicine, and more.
